Washed My Face in the Morning Dew - Performed by Dave & Crystal Canyon:

Here's a video of the original Dave & Crystal Canyon at peak time when they were just becoming popular. They had recently won the Portland Country Music festival at that stage and had earned a spot at the then famous Wondong Country Music festival. Having just finished a self titled EP some originals and some covers. The band was enjoying a huge anount of success.

Dave and Crystal canyon were also the first band to appear on a brand new TV show called country by request and were basking in all the fun they could have. This is a clip that was recorded live at the Mooroopna Country Music Festival in 1980. The line up at the time was John Ferguson on lead guitar, Dale Cameron on base, Bill Ely on drums and of course David Delle-Vergin vocals.

This song is a traditional bluegrass song with a Dave & Crystal Canyon trademark feel. A popular band in the Goulburn Valley at the time were a band called the McConkey Brothers. Reference is made to them in this clip as they were a band that Dave & the Boys enjoyed and loved very much.

Love Lifted Me - Performed by Dave & Crystal Canyon:

Here's a video of David Delle-Vergin and the 2nd Lineup of the Crystal Canyon band. After a the band did a tour with Clayton Saunders ( ex Johnny Chester and Hotspur & Blue Denim Band ), they reformed and came out to establish themselves again as one of the premier country bands in Victoria. This is a video clip, from a show called Country by Request which aired on GMV6 in Shepparton.

Dave Delle-Vergin & Haydin Demaj re-recorded this track at Chris Eggleton Studios in Temora NSW with guitar & bass work from Hayden Demaj ( at that time from Wangarratta in Victoria) Dave on vocals & acoustic guitar and Drums from Chris. Dave & Crystal Canyon were always pushing the envelope. They were the actual first artist to appear on Country by Request when it started a few years earlier and specifically recorded material to play on the show. Given the fact that this was between 1979 - 1981, they were basically pioneering the start of Video Clips for bands in Rural Victoria.

She Believes in Me - David Delle-Vergin and the Razzamatazz Showband:

This video clip was recorded live at the 1981 Mooroopna Country Music Festival. The band had transformed in a few short years to travelling between Sydney & Melbourne on a regular basis. Putting on one of the best floorshow performances around at the time. The band would play big venues and have several costume changes in one night and move from dinner music to Daves spotlight floorshow right through to full on rock band.

This band backed the Drifters on an Australian tour including a 2 week stint in one of the bumber snow seasons ever in 1980 at Falls Creek, they backed Normie Rowe and countless other well known artists in various venues. Razzamatazz had a road crew and a truck full of gear boasting a huge 10000 Watt 4 way sound system, big enough to fill out out a football field with 5000 people in it. In fact the gear used to record and supply the sound for this festival was all supplied by the Razzamatazz Show band.

The line up included Dale Cameron on bass ex crystal canyon, James A. Kinmont on lead guitar, Ricky Cole drums, Steve Keys on keyboards and synth and Mal McGrath on acoustic and percussion. Dave was right in his element here and developed quite a following from venue to venue.
